It is small. I purchased this cable knowing that it would be a bit short for my desk, heck. I wanted to use it to plug my ipod into my car USB charger. It does offer some audible interference when using this in conjunction with headphones. Other than that, I'd buy one again.
After the second use both ends of the cable stopped retracting. I have used this charger probably twice after I purchased it. After the first charge one end of the cable would not wind up. The whole point of buying this item was to avoid cables hanging out.The build is Ok for the $ spent but the cable's are too thin. I am getting one from Schosche, avoid this if you are looking for a good retractable charger.
Works very well. Can't beat the price. Does it's job: syncs the iPod. It's also nice that the cord retracts so there's not a lot of cord to deal with when your not using it. A sync cord at a local retail shop could set you back $15-$20. Buy this one, or like I did: buy several.
I bought this for my IPod Touch 3g since I lost my sync/charging cable. This charges my unit just fine, just doesn't work as a sync cable.
However, the rewind mechanism broke the second time that I used it. Unit arrived with the plastic cover on the rewind hub 50% off center. A piece of plastic came flying out of the central hub as I was extending (I didn't even extend it to full length). It's attached with adhesive so it was easy to fix, but it was a sign of poor quality control. The cord works as advertised. I have a different retractable cord from Belkin (USB) that works just fine. I would spend a few extra bucks to get better quality.
